An executive group will make or break an organisation’s strategy.
Use this quick test of effective leadership, adapted from Drucker, to start a conversation on constructive executive behaviours, or just give yourself an individual health check. The three elements Drucker draws attention to are:
- focus: this is about an executive’s capacity and willingness to understand the key organisational priorities, and to adjust their groups priorities to what is best for the business.
- agency (act): making decisions, owning the consequences and actively getting other on board
- mobilisation: this is about getting teams moving and effective. Inclusive language, putting your money where your mouth is (also known as resource planning and budgeting) and keeping people collectively accountable.
